Mission
The New Brunswick Association of Occupational Therapists is a professional and regulatory organization representing occupational therapists province-wide and advancing quality occupational therapy through effective regulation, governance, education and advocacy.

Vision
The New Brunswick Association of Occupational Therapists (NBAOT) has a five star vision for the future of occupational therapy in New Brunswick: Identity, Image, Impact, Involvement, and Investment. The profession can shape its own destiny based on a clear understanding of future developments and the description of a preferred future for occupational therapy in the province.
- Identity: Continually develop and maintain a strong clinician role. Strengthen roles in areas of health promotion and wellness, consultation services, health care leadership, service and program management, and expert and specialty practice.
- Image: Well-known and respected profession recognized to contribute to the occupational performance of individuals and populations. Well established team players respecting and working with clients, families, and other service providers to achieve the best health outcomes. Services will be in demand by the health system, health professionals and the public.
- Impact: Based upon research and best evidence, occupational therapists will continually seek to improve client outcomes and pursue advancement of competence and best practice.
- Involvement: Occupational therapists will provide service continuity to clients as they move between community and hospital-based settings. Strong links among health sectors will be facilitated through professional networking and information and communication technology.
- Investment: Public funds will continue to support access to occupational therapy services. The presence of a vital private sector will expand public access to timely and quality services, in particular for insured and self-supporting clients.
