About Us
The New Brunswick Association of Occupational Therapists is a professional and regulatory organization that exists to advance quality occupational therapy practice in the interest of public protection and to represent occupational therapists province-wide by advancing standards of education and practice and shaping health policy.
NBAOT is an Affiliate Member of the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists, a member of the Association of Canadian Occupational Therapy Regulatory Organizations, and is affiliated with the Canadian Occupational Therapy Foundation.

An OT helps Talia’s elderly dad Bernhard to return home from the hospital by recommending changes to improve the safety of his home and his activities.CAOT – ACE The Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists provides services, products, events and networking opportunities to help occupational therapists achieve excellence in their professional practice. In addition, CAOT provides national leadership to actively develop and promote the client-centred profession of occupational therapy in Canada and internationally.
COTF – FCE The Canadian Occupational Therapy Foundation is a not-for-profit charity that promotes and funds research and scholarship in OT. The national organization has provided NBAOT with assistance to set up its own provincial fund for OTs in NB. This provincial fund is managed by COTF.
The Association of Canadian Occupational Therapy Regulatory Organizations (ACOTRO) is a corporation made up of regulatory organizations from the 10 provinces. ACOTRO works to advance quality regulation in occupational therapy in Canada. Our goal is to promote consistency and excellence within the occupational therapy regulatory environment across Canada. Our members work to protect the public by fulfilling their statutory mandate to regulate the practice of occupational therapy in each jurisdiction.
