The NBAOT is occasionally asked to provide feedback to government agencies on new initiatives or invited to attend stakeholders meetings or asked to create briefs on various topics. Often when such requests are made, we are asked to provide the names of interested occupational therapists with particular subject matter expertise.
These opportunities increase the visibility of both the NBAOT and the profession of occupational therapy. They also give OTs the chance to be involved in initiatives from the ground up! Being part of such work can be professionally and personally rewarding.
